CONGRATULATIONS CUK!
On the day of 7th October 2016, The Co-operative University of Kenya is born following award of a University Charter by H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi.
This award is a culmination of a long process and rigorous efforts by both the University College Council, the Management, the staff and students of the predecessor, The Co-operative College Kenya. To the end, the mother University, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology played a critical role in mentoring CUCK since 4th November, 2012 up to and until this moment.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has supported this course and has remained committed to its conclusion. We remain hopeful that our contribution to Higher Education in Kenya is to remain unmoved and beneficial to the nation and the World at large.
The Co-operative movement in Kenya, Africa, and the International Co-operative Alliance has been a critical partner over the years since the inception of the Institution and has equally been of great support. Thank you.
With this new mandate and crucial milestone, comes immense responsibility that the university ought to play especially in its specialized niche market. The Co-operative University of Kenya takes pride in its revered quality co-operative training and research in setting high the bar on the quality of graduates that will continue coming along in this path.
