Rationale of the Programme

Kenya, like other developing economies, is faced with ever increasing technological challenges due to the dynamic nature of computing. This situation calls for human resources that possess the necessary skills and attitudes to keep up with this ever changing landscape. This programme seeks to produce experts capable of providing solutions in cooperative, financial, education, manufacturing, agro-processing and the service sector.

The programme is anchored on Kenya’s Vision 2030 which recognizes the role of Science, Technology and Innovation in economic development. Knowledge in Science, Technology and Innovation is a key enabler for implementation of the strategies and flagship projects towards fulfilling vision 2030. This is also reflected in the Africa Union (AU) 2063 Goals under Aspiration One which aims to attain a Prosperous Africa, based on Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development where Science Technology & Innovation are priorities as enablers for driving Manufacturing / Industrialization and Value Addition

Programme Specific Admission Requirements

Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C+ in both Mathematics and English or Kiswahili, 

OR 

  1. KNEC Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology /Business Information Technology or its equivalent from an Accredited and Recognized Institution, 

OR 

  1. CUK Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology /Business Information Technology or its equivalent from an Accredited and Recognized Institution, 

OR 

  1. The Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE), East African Certificate of Education (EACE) “Ordinary Level” Division II or their equivalents, plus a CUK/KNEC Diploma or their equivalents from an Accredited and Recognized Institution, 

OR 

  1. The Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE), East African Certificate of Education (EACE) Ordinary Level Division III or their equivalents, plus CUK/KNEC Certificate and CUK/KNEC Diploma or their equivalents from an Accredited and Recognized Institution, 

OR 

  1. The Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) “Advanced Level” with two Principal passes and a subsidiary.
